Topaz dragons are erratic, selfish and often dangerous creatures. They typically make their lairs in the Elemental Plane of Water, or underwater on whatever plane they happen to find themselves. In spite of the underwater nature of their lairs, however, their homes are always bone dry. They love lounging on outcroppings or beaches lashed by the waves and hunting squid or sharks. Their territories frequently overlap with those of bronze dragons, and fights between the two are often merciless and deadly.
Please note that the natural alignment of a Topaz Dragon is Chaotic Neutral. Topaz Dragon characters must be within one step of their natural alignment (CN, CE, CG, TN).

Subrace Traits:[]
Ability Adjustments: +4 Strength, -2 Dexterity, +2 Constitution, +2 Intelligence.
Dragon Breath, Cold: In their natural form Topaz Dragons can breathe a cone of arctic dessication that deals 1d8 Cold damage per character level. Creatures caught in the breath attack must make a Fortitude save to avoid taking 1d6 Con damage (+1 per Con modifier). Plants, Oozes take double Con damage. Targets may also make a Reflex save to take half damage (does not apply to Con damage). The save DC against a breath weapon is 10 + ½ dragon’s HD + dragon’s Con modifier. Once a dragon breathes its breath weapon, he cannot breathe it again for the next 60 seconds.
Draconic Immunity: Topaz Dragons are immune to cold energy, sleep and paralysis.
Alternate Form, Humanoid: Once per day a Dragon can assume the form of a specific small or medium humanoid. The assumed form allows the Dragon to wield weapons his natural form otherwise couldnt. He may only choose one appearance to change into, which is then set forever. A Dragon can remain in his humanoid form until he chooses to return to his natural form. Bronze and Topaz Dragons who take levels in the Dragon PrC, gain Change Self at Level 6.
A Topaz Dragon may take levels in the Dragon Class.
