These intelligent, mobile mushrooms are among the more unusual creatures that live deep below ground. Myconids (also called fungus ones)are gentle, quiet, shy,and thoughtful. They always view outsiders with distrust because they assume that all strangers are destructive and violent. To ensure that they can live in peace, they usually make their homes far from the more commonly traveled subterranean paths.

Why a Myconid would ever be found in Sigil is open to question, although there are rumours of a colony in some remote part of Under Sigil.

Racial Traits:

Ability Adjustments: +2 Strength, +2 Wisdom.

Darkvision: Can see in the dark up to 60'.

Natural Armor: Natural armor +1 (stacking).

No Manual Dexterity: Myconids do not use weapons, instead preferring to attack using their hands. They gain a slam attack aswell as creature weapon profiency.

Spores: Myconids can unleash a burst of spores around themselves, infecting those nearby with them. This works a bit like a disease, except it being a plant type growth it can affect even creatures immune to disease, including undead. Only constructs are comminly known to be able to resist the spores as they give nothing for the spores to feed on. If the target(s) fail their saves, then after a minute their bodies are consumed and a small myconid will rise from the remains to serve their master.

Favored Class: Fighter. A multiclass Myconid's fighter class does not count when determining whether he takes an experience point penalty for multiclassing. .

Level Adjustment +1: Myconids are more powerful and gain levels more slowly than other races. It will take more experience for a Myconid to reach level 2 than it would for normal races, for example.

A Myconid may take levels in the Racial Prestige Class Plant.
