Hexen

Swords, fire, bolts of lightning. These are often the weapons called upon to smite one's foes. But for the Hexen, such means are primitive and paltry. The Hexen instead deals in powers that can twist a foe's fate. Their weapons are curses that doom their victims to nightmares and unspeakable torments that can only be escaped by the strongest of wills.

Hexens wield the power of their masters to assail the fortunes of their foes and make them more vulnerable to harm. Although they are just as capable of weilding eldritch magic as any other warlock, their focus is on destroying their enemy's strengths, rather than their flesh alone.

Skill Points: 4 + Int modifier.

Class Skills: Concentration, Craft Alchemy, Craft Armor, Craft Weapon, Heal, Intimidate, Lore, Parry, Spellcraft, Taunt, Tumble, and Use Magic Device.

Spellcasting: 

At every level, the Hexen gains invocations and blast dice as though it had taken a level in warlock.

Hexer I-III[]

At 2nd, 5th, and 8th level, your blast essences become more difficult to resist. This effects:

- Draining Blast

- Frightful Blast

- Beshadowed Blast

- Bewitching Blast

- Noxious Blast

- Binding Blast

At 2nd level the DC for these shapes increase by 1. At 5th level, the DC increases by 2. And at 8th level, the DC increases by 3 (for a total of +3). This DC increase applies to the secondary effects of these blast essences, not the reflex save vs. certain blast shapes.

In addition, your curses (dreadful aura, dread seizure, baleful polymorph, baleful geas and painful sleep of ages) become more potent. Their DCs increase at the same rate as the blast shapes, and their effects scale as follows:

Dreadful Aura:[]

Hexer I - The aura also inflicts a -1 AC penalty to enemies.

Hexer II - The aura also inflicts a -2 AC penalty to enemies.

Hexer III - The aura also inflicts a -3 AC penalty to enemies.

Dread Seizure:

Hexer I - The target's miss chance is increased by 5%.

Hexer II - The target's miss chance is increased by 10%, the attack penalty is increased to -4, and movement speed is decreased by 40%. The duration increases to 4 rounds.

Hexer III - The target's miss chance is increased by 15%, the attack penalty is increased to -5, and movement speed is decreased by 50%. The duration increases to 5 rounds.

Baleful Polymorph:[]

Hexer I - Increases the target's dexterity by 2.

Hexer II - Increases the target's dexterity by 4.

Hexer III - Increases the target's dexterity by 6.

Baleful Geas:

Hexer I - Removes the strength penalty from the geas, replacing it with a +2 strength bonus. The duration also increases to 3 + Caster Level rounds.

Hexer II - Removes the strength penalty from the geas, replacing it with a 1d4+1 strength bonus. The duration also increases to 3 + Caster Level rounds.

Hexer III - Removes the strength penalty from the geas, replacing it with a 2d4 strength bonus. The duration also increases to 3 + Caster Level rounds.

Painful Sleep of Ages:[]

Hexer I - Increases the damage dice the target takes upon waking from 2d6 to 3d6. The target will take the waking damage on a successful will save, as well as if the target awakens.

Hexer II - Increases the damage dice the target takes upon waking from 2d6 to 4d6. The target will take the waking damage on a successful will save, as well as if the target awakens.

Hexer III - Increases the damage dice the target takes upon waking from 2d6 to 5d6. The target will take the waking damage on a successful will save, as well as if the target awakens.

Hexen's Curse[]

At levels 1, 4, and 7, the Hexen gains a choice between improving the following invocations:

Dreadful Aura - The Hexen's Dreadful Aura Invocation (should they have it) becomes more potent. Any enemies affected by the aura recieve a 15% vulnerability to all elemental damage types (fire, acid, cold, electric, and sonic).

Dread Seizure - The Hexen's Dread Seizure Invocation (should they have it) becomes more potent. The invocation becomes an area of effect with 10 foot radius, centered on the target creature.

Baleful Polymorph - The Hexen's Baleful Polymorph Invocation (should they have it) becomes more potent. The duration of the curse increases from a number of rounds equal to Caster Level to Caster Level * 2.  

In addition, the caster gains a modicum of control over the target's mind, should they fail their save vs. the polymoprh effect. The target lashes out at its previous friends on behalf of the caster, and may follow the caster if the caster moves too far away.

Baleful Geas -  The Hexen's Baleful Geas Invocation (should they have it) becomes more potent. If the target falls under the caster's thrall, then on their death they will explode in burst of eldritch magical energy, equal to the caster's eldritch blast.

Painful Sleep of Ages - The Hexen's Painful Sleep of Ages invocation (should they have it) increases in power. Every target that makes their saving through vs. the sleep effect will instantly have the "waking" damage done to them, and be affected with a curse. The curse applies a -3 penalty to attack rolls, 5% miss chance and 30% penalty to movement speed for the duration of the spell.

Player characters get a fortitude save vs. the curse.

The curse also scales up with the Hexer feats, as Dread Seizure does. The final curse with Cursemaster inflicts -5 to attack, 20% miss chance, and a 50% movement speed penalty for 1 round / Caster Level for Player Characters, or permanently in the case of hostile monsters.

Cursemaster[]

The Hexen's curses become more potent again, and the blast essences and curse DC boni from Hexer increases to +4.

In addition, the curses all become more powerful again:

The Dreadful Aura inflicts a -4 AC penalty to enemies.

The Dread Seizure increases the target's miss chance to 20%.

Baleful Geas' duration increases to 3 + (Caster Level * 2) rounds, and the 2d4 strength bonus becomes a +2d4 strength, dexterity, and constitution bonus.

The creature effected by Baleful Polymorph becomes hasted for the duration of the spell, in addition to the dexterity boni from the Hexer line.

Painful Sleep of Ages does 6d6 damage on waking and on will save success, instead of 2d6.

All the above curses also ignore the target's spell resistance. The above curses also stack with the Hexer feats and the respective Hexen's Curse abilities.
