Canon[]
Caylean is an enthusiastic, cheerful basher - the exact opposite of most Defiers (and most tieflings). He sings, he laughs, he cracks jokes, and tends to trust his host of acquaintances. The Athar would‘ve ousted him except for two things. First, the Factol likes this blood and views him as proof that a more benign attitude can mix with Defier philosophy without diluting it.
The second reason brings up the interesting story beihind Caylean’s decision to join the Lost. See, the tiefling spent his childhood as a cripple, unable to walk due to the withered legs he was born with. The day he denounced the gods as frauds and joined the Athar, his limbs became whole and healthy. The Lost saw it as a sign that a force beyond mortal understanding could operate once a body’d banished the interference of the powers. The way they see it, Caylean’s clear proof that the Athar philosophy has the right of it.

Biography[]
Caylean is a young Factor, by anyone's count. Inexperienced some might say, but those bashers don't know the dark of it. See Caylean has seen and suffered a lot in his life so far, and he's keen to continue his rapid rise through the Athar and his work throughout the Planes. Rumours abound that Terrance will probably have Caylean installed as the next Athar Factol once he ends up in the deadbook, much to the ire of the hardliners in the Faction.
Still eager to enjoy the new life that he has been given, Caylean has become a strapping young man. Now his duties far extend just running messages to and from the Shattered Temple, and he's been training at the Gymnasium for the work he wants to do. Travelling the Multiverse, and spreading the good word of the Athar far and wide.
He wears the garb of a ranger now, but without any of the frippery of Sigilian fashion. It's plain, boiled and studded, leather gear, with a sturdy sword to boot (which he learnt how to use off the Ciphers). Often seen dashing about the city, learning all he can about the Planes and the people within them, he's now taken a special shine to the Clueless. Everybody gives them a hard time for not getting it, but Caylean thinks the gift of knowing about the Great Unknown is just the gift they haven't received yet, much like he did when he was a cripple.
