Prerequisite: Totem Barbarian Background Feat
Specifics: Not all spiritual forces come from things that once lived. Sometimes an object was revered so highly that its essence lives on long after the material the item was made from has crumbled to dust. The Barbarian gains the ability to call upon the spiritual essence of an ancestral weapon while in a rage. The connection to the essence of the weapon grows as the barbarian gains levels increasing the strength of the spirit weapon. The weapon always appears as a Cold Iron Greataxe. Enhancement Bonus increases from +1 at level 1 to +6 at level 30. The weapon is keen. It does increased amounts of Cold damage (from 2d6 at level 1 to 6d12 at level 30) and on hit it can slow your enemies for 3 rounds, with the DC and % chance increasing with Barbarian levels. Only non-ECL races will be able to achieve the maximum values.
Rundown of the progression of the weapon's abilities:
Level 1: 2d6 cold damage, +0 enhancement bonus, keen, slow DC 14 = 5%/3 rounds
Level 6: 3d6 cold damage, +1 enhancement bonus, keen, slow DC 16 = 10%/3 rounds
Level 11: 4d6 cold damage, +2 enhancement bonus, keen, slow DC 18 = 25%/3 rounds
Level 16: 5d6 cold damage, +3 enhancement bonus, keen, slow DC 20 = 33%/3 rounds
Level 21: 6d6 cold damage, +4 enhancement bonus, keen, slow DC 22 = 50%/3 rounds
Level 26: 4d12 cold damage, +5 enhancement bonus, keen, slow DC 24 = 66%/3 rounds
Level 30: 6d12 cold damage, +6 enhancement bonus, keen, slow DC 26 = 75%/3 rounds
Note 1 (IMPORTANT!): If you are a small sized creature this feat is not worth taking as you will not be able to wield the weapon that is summoned.
Note 2: This will replace any weapon you already have in your right hand, and unless you have monkey grip or a large creature it will remove your left hand item as well. If you have a full inventory this can result in items dropping into containers, or in worst case dropping on the ground or simply disappering. Avoid having a full inventory. The weapon will self-destruct when the rage ends. If you for some reason log off or disconnect while raging with this feat the weapon will be stuck in your hand. Rage again and it will clear this issue.
