Amethyst dragon

Amethyst dragons are wise and regal. They often serve as intermediaries between warring dragons, or even entire civilizations. Most amethyst dragons live in grand caverns in the Elemental Plane of Earth, richly decorated with crystals and gems of all kinds.

Please note that the natural alignment of an Amethyst Dragon is True Neutral. Amethyst Dragon characters may therefore be any Neutral alignment (TN, LN, CN, NG, NE).

Dragon Traits: Take a look here.

Subrace Traits:[]

Ability Adjustments: +2 Strength, -2 Dexterity, +2 Constitution, +2 Intelligence, +2 Wisdom.

Dragon Breath, Force: In their natural form Amethyst Dragons can breathe a line of concussive force that deals 1d3 Magical damage and 1d3 Bludgeoning damage per character level. If a creature is caught in the area, it can attempt a reflex save to take half damage. The save DC against a breath weapon is 10 + ½ dragon’s HD + dragon’s Con modifier. Once a dragon breathes force, he cannot breathe it again for the next 60 seconds.

Draconic Immunity: Amethyst Dragons are immune to sleep and paralysis, and also have an innate resistance to Force effects. At level 1, this manifests as an immunity to the spell Magic Missiles and the power Kinetic Blades, and at every 4 character levels the Amethyst Dragon gains additional immunities to the following spells:

  • Level 4: Concussion Blast (Power), Bigby's Interposing Hand
  • Level 8: Telekinetic Maneuver (Power), Bigby's Forceful Hand
  • Level 12: Isaac's Lesser Missile Storm, Bigby's Grasping Hand
  • Level 16: Force Beam (Power), Bigby's Clenched Fist
  • Level 20: Isaac's Greater Missile Storm, Bigby's Crushing Hand

Alternate Form, Humanoid: Once per day a Dragon can assume the form of a specific small or medium humanoid. The assumed form allows the Dragon to wield weapons his natural form otherwise couldnt. He may only choose one appearance to change into, which is then set forever. A Dragon can remain in his humanoid form until he chooses to return to his natural form.

An Amethyst Dragon may take levels in the Dragon Class.
